DV March

Each September, in a kick-off to October and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the DVCC hosts a March to End the Silence on Domestic Violence.  Three groups of marchers from Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College at the Capitol Steps, march through traffic with banners and whistles to draw attention to domestic violence issues. The three sets of marchers convene at the Turnbull Center or another central venue for dinner and an evening of survivor speakers. The event is hosted by local celebrities and is free and open to the public.

Various themes are explored each year such as domestic abuse in the religious community, abusive dating and campus sexual assault, parental issues, legal issues and specific resources for LGBT or children, and how friends can help loved ones who are being abused.

If you would like to attend or be a speaker, contact Kelly at kes2523@my.fsu.edu.
